This piece was created when a friend and I decided to take a kayaking trip from Oleta state park to Sand Spur island off Miami’s mainland. It was a gorgeous day of relaxation and reflection and we decided after spending some time on the sand bar, to dock our kayak at this nearby island to get some shade. This hideaway spot continues to linger in my mind as it represents a cool comfort that remains as one of my favorite hidden gems. Made in 2020.
