Octopus | Original Fine Art Oil Painting

One of my favorite memories scuba diving in Australia far off in the vast Great Barrier Reef was encountering this inquisitive animal. Right at the conclusion of my dive, before we were supposed to ascend, I had a few spare minutes of air to see any other underwater friends I could encounter. I don’t know if it found me, or I found it, but it was one of the bravest and most curious octopuses I’ve ever seen! This one stretched up towards me as though we were about to have a conversation, and it was as though this creature had a message for me. That message has yet to be revealed to me, although I’ll never forget this moment. Made in 2011
